In the presence of the Religious Custodian of the Abbasid Holy Shrine, Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Ahmed Al-Safi (May his eminence prevail), its Secretary-General Mr. Mustafa Mortada Al-Dhiya’ Al-Din, and a number of officials from the Holy Shrine, the President of Al-Ameed University, Prof. Joudat Nouri Al-Jashami, participated in the closing ceremony for the graduation of Iraqi university female students – the 10th Batch of Banaat Al-Kafeel, held at the Al-Ameed Educational Complex.
The Abbasid Holy Shrine organized the ceremony through the Al-Kafeel Women’s Religious Schools Division, affiliated with the Religious Custodian’s Office for Women’s Affairs, under the slogan:
“From the Light of Fatimah (PBUH), We Illuminate the World”,
with the participation of more than 5,000 students from 14 Iraqi governorates.
The ceremony witnessed wide attendance from official and academic figures, along with parents, creating a festive atmosphere celebrating the students’ academic and scientific achievements.
The event began with the recitation of blessed verses from the Holy Qur’an by Qari Haider Al-Bazouni, followed by the Iraqi national anthem, the anthem of the Abbasid Holy Shrine (Lahn Al-Ibaa), and a recitation of Surah Al-Fatiha in memory of the martyrs.
The program included a speech by the Religious Custodian of the Abbasid Holy Shrine, Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Ahmed Al-Safi, and a speech by the participating universities, delivered by Prof. Abbas Laffa Al-Aqabi, President of Wasit University. This was followed by a dialogue session titled “Springs of Insight”, which addressed ethical, educational, and intellectual aspects.
The ceremony also featured speeches by the graduating students and parents, as well as a poetry recital by Poet Muhammad Al-Fatimi, and concluded with the honoring of the presidents of participating universities and academic institutions.
The graduation ceremony of the Banaat Al-Kafeel batch aims to link the academic journey with religious values and national identity, while enhancing the role of Iraqi women as active contributors in the fields of science and work, in line with the vision of the Abbasid Holy Shrine to support and empower young talents academically and intellectually.
